PANJIM: GOACAN has written to the State government expressing concern about the large number of gymnasiums without registration or not monitored by any specified/designated authority as prescribed by the State government.
In a letter to Health Secretary Ashok Kumar, GOACAN Coordinator Roland Martins said that other than the required trade license obtained from the municipal council or village panchayat, there is no technical/specialised authority which examines the equipment being used.
The other issue of concern raised by GOACAN is the unauthorised sale of fitness/health supplements which are being brought from overseas and sold without proper medical prescriptions.
