Panjim: GOACAN has written to the Urban Development seeking additional time to submit feedback on the draft Model Goa Municipal Solid Waste (Management and Handling) By-Laws 2020.
In a letter to Director Tariq Thomas, GOACAN pointed out that the by-laws must be seen and discussed by all stakeholders so that feedback of objections and suggestions is comprehensive.
“We appreciate the efforts of Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) in getting this important draft by-laws prepared at a time when the municipal councils are facing a major challenge of managing and handling solid waste. The by-laws must be seen and discussed by all stakeholders so that feedback of objections and suggestions is comprehensive,” GOACAN coordinator Roland Martins said.
On April 28, the DMA had issued a public notice seeking objections and suggestions to the by-laws.
