The initiation of the Khelo India setup by the
Central Government in Goa was aimed to nurture players in the state. However, a
concern has arisen among Goan parents and players regarding the participation
of non-Goan players who already possess higher skills in the state ranking tournaments.
Parents claim that the situation has led to a demotivating sense among local
Goan players. They have demanded fair and equal opportunities for Goan players,
and that only Goan players should participate in the Goa state ranking
