Porvorim: “Goans are peace-loving and well-behaved. The crime rate is low in the State compared to other parts of the country. Only difference is that the nature of crimes have changed during the last few years. People from other states come here and commit crimes. A woman killing his own three-year-old son or a villa owner from Pilerne being murdered by a couple involved people from other states,” said North Goa SP Nidhin Valsan, IPS while speaking at a press conference after he was transferred to Delhi.
Valsan stated that he enjoyed his 3-year tenure in Goa and did not feel any pressure from the politicians.
“Our police have been able to crack many cases in a short period of time.
Compared to the rest of the states, there are many programs held in Goa with cooperation from administration. I was working with a sense of contentment,” said Valsan.
Valsan has been posted in Delhi and will be leaving next week.
