Lord Ganesh idols, which were installed and worshipped in Hindu households for five days, were immersed in water bodies across the State on Sunday. After performing poojas and offering aartis at home, lively processions of devotees ferried their Ganesh idols on vehicles decked out with flowers, accompanied by the beats of traditional drums, bursting of firecrackers and joyful chants of ‘Ganapati Bappa Morya, Pudchea Varshi Laukar Yaa’, urging the lord of wisdom to come back soon, next year.
