Goa’s Dindi Festival Set to Attain State Festival Status in 2024, Announces CM Pramod Sawant

In a joyous celebration of the renowned Dindi festival in Margaon, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant made a significant announcement, declaring that the Dindi festival would be elevated to the status of a State festival in the coming year.

Thousands of people from various walks of life joined the festivities at the Hari Mandir in Pajifond, Margao, participating in the vibrant Dindi celebrations with religious fervor. The procession of Vithal Rakhumaye, starting from Hari Mandir, wound its way through the city, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the night and culminating back at Hari Mandir on Sunday.

CM Sawant, addressing the gathered crowd, emphasized the cultural and traditional significance of the Dindi festival. The decision to accord State festival status to Dindi reflects the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting Goa’s rich cultural heritage. The announcement is expected to enhance the stature of Dindi, drawing increased participation and support from across the state.
