Goa’s first organ donor felicitated posthumously

VASCO: Late B Sadashiv Rao, who was the first organ donor from Goa, was felicitated posthumously with an award by the Vidyanagar Residents Welfare Association on the occasion of annual day celebration, on Saturday. 
The award was received by his sorrowful wife Seema Rao from Mormugao Municipal Council Chairperson Deepak Naik who was the chief guest for the function.
On the occasion, Seema Rao thanked the Vidyanagar Residents Welfare Association for recognising the contribution of her husband to the society in his quiet & humble behaviour.  
Meritorious students who scored distinction at the board level and medal winners in sports category were felicitated by the chief guest. 
Addressing the gathering, Deepak Naik appealed to the members to remain united with the Association and develop the Vidyanagar area. 
He said that he was very happy to know through the print and electronic media that the residents were very active in protesting against the illegalities in their area.
