CANACONA: Eight goats have died of suspected poisoning at Dabel-Poinguinim, while few others were treated by veterinary doctors.
According to sources, the goats belonging to Bagi Kondo Varak of Dabel, a remote area bordering Cotigao, were found dead while many others were seen struggling for life.
When contacted, Canacona Veterinary doctor, Dr Rajendra Prabhugaonkar, informed that post-mortem has been conducted on eight goats and three more were treated for suspected poisoning.
“We will submit necessary report to the concerned to claim compensation but we could not verify the claims that some more goats have died and their bodies have been disposed off in the forest,” Dr Prabhugaonkar said.
