VASCO: He may have been insulted, snubbed and sidelined by the State Congress party leadership during the Lok Sabha polls, but Dabolim MLA and rebel leader Mauvin Godinho claimed that he had the last laugh following the BJP’s success in the Lok Sabha polls in the State.
“Congress has not only lost its connectivity with the people of Goa but also of the entire country and this is proved by the historic win of the BJP party,” said Godinho.
“The Congress leaders in Goa had humiliated me and my supporters by stating that Godinho has only one vote. I have proved the Congress wrong. Adv Savaikar polled 8,556 votes in Dabolim and this proves my credibility with my supporters and voters of Dabolim,” he added.
“I do what I say and have proved myself when I had said that my supporters and other constituents from Daboilm constituency would vote in favour of the South Goa BJP candidate Adv Savaikar.”
“BJP’s victory was expected, but the margin of the victory is a surprise to the Congress party. The Congress has to sit back and introspect what has led to their defeat. Now, they will have to admit their mistake and retrospect what went wrong,” stated Godinho.
