PANJIM: The District and Sessions Court on Thursday dismissed the anticipatory bail application filed by Wilson Godinho, who has been charged with abetting suicide of Merces panch Prakash Naik. Principal Sessions Judge Irshad Agha read a one-line order in the open court dismissing Wilson’s plea.
Godinho, who remained present in the court during his plea’s arguments on Tuesday, was however absent when the order dismissing his application was passed.
His lawyer Rohit Bras D’Sa told the reporters that the order will be challenged in the High Court of Bombay at Goa. “By just a name in the WhatsApp does not make Wilson an accused. We will appeal in the High Court,” he said.
Naik had named Godinho and Tahir in his WhatsApp message blaming them for harassing him and prompting him to kill himself.
Godinho is the brother of Minister Mauvin Godinho. During the arguments on his anticipatory bail application, D’Sa had said that pressure on the police by Naik family resulted in FIR under section 306 IPC.
