PANJIM: Expressing surprise at the attempt by Goa Forward Party (GFP) to rake up Goenkarponn by inciting violence, Goencho Avaaz (GA) has rubbished the regional party’s claim as “fake Goenkarponn”.
“It may be recalled that GFP was responsible for operationalising the Regional Plan 2021 to sell Goa and Goa’s precious land to the real estate lobby and the corporate world. The minister should be booked for his irresponsible statement about weaponising the GFP youth wing to save Goenkarponn,” says co-convenors Capt Viriato Fernandes and Swapnesh Sherlekar.
Further, they said GFP chief Vijai Sardesai, who was also responsible for protecting the ‘formalin fish traders’ and endangering the lives of the people of Goa, should never ever talk of Goenkarponn.
“The enormous damage ever done to the state and its rich heritage and culture has been by the GFP. Right from the day the party leader Sardesai betrayed the trust of the people of Fatorda who elected him and betrayed the people of Goa by ensuring sale of our fields, orchard land, hills, forests, etc by means of Regional Plan 2021,” they added. Calling him a betrayer who has done everything against the interests of the state, they questioned how he is now talking about Goenkarponn and compared the act to pulling wool over the eyes of the people.
GA further said the people of Goa are aware that the unpopular, anti-people government in the state is on its last leg and may collapse anytime.
“Sensing the anger of the people against the government and specially against his party, GFP is worried that in case the house is dissolved and fresh elections are held, they will be totally rejected and decimated by the people of Goa, and hence has again tried to embark on the theme of Goenkarponn,” said GA.
GA further warned the Deputy Chief Minister from using such cheap tactics to woo the people of Goa.
“The organization will do all to expose the double standards of Vijai Sardesai and the present government in fooling the people of Goa,” they said.
