MARGAO: Some unknown person effected entry into a house at Guirdolim -Chandor and decamped with gold ornaments including a mangalsutra and cash.
Maina Curtorim Police said Chhattisgarh native one Saroj Pal from Guirdolim-Chandor in her complaint stated that an unknown person trespassed into her house with criminal intention and committed the theft.
Police said according to the complainant the unknown person entered through the open main door and committed theft of gold mangalsutra, gold necklace and pair of gold rings worth Rs 78,000.
Police said the unknown person also committed theft of cash of Rs 20,000. Based on the complaint Maina Curtorim Police registered an offence under Sections 448 and 380 of the IPC. Further investigation is on.
Karnataka native commits suicide: A 22-year-old Karnataka native allegedly committed suicide in his rented room at Colva.
Colva PSI Jaideep Amre said the youth committed suicide by hanging himself to a wooden rafter with the help of saree.
Police said further inquiry revealed that the deceased committed suicide over financial problem and ruled out foul play.
Police conducted the panchanama and sent the body to South Goa District Hospital, Margao.
