VASCO: Air Customs seized 10 gold bars weighing around 1.16 kg at Dabolim Airport on Sunday.
The Air Intelligence Unit of Goa Customs at Dabolim Airport caught an international passenger trying to smuggle gold in raw form valued approximately Rs 32 lakh.
The search of the Air India flight number AI 994 resulted in recovery of 10 gold bars weighing 1.16 kg in the aircraft toilet. The gold bars were covered with balloons and hence on suspicion, a passenger was interrogated and on his personal search few balloons identical to the ones covering the gold bars were recovered from him.
