Gold thief brought back to State

PANJIM: Accused in a gold theft case Vikash Kushwah was on Monday brought back to Goa by a team of Panjim and Old Goa Police, two days after he escaped to his native town with the stolen booty. 

The 31-year-old, jewellery store staffer in Panjim, is charged with stealing gold ornaments from his working place worth Rs 32.78 lakh approximately. 

The accused had fled soon after committing the crime but timely complaint and swift police response led to tracing the accused. Kushwah, a native of Gwalior was traced at Puranpur and produced before the local court to facilitate his transfer warrant to Goa.
