PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa has rejected the plea of Golden Globe Hotels to direct the State government to allot a jetty for their casino vessel ‘Lucky 7’ once it returns after repairs.
“Can’t give an advance pass after seeing the way it got stranded at Miramar,” the HC observed, on the plea for a jetty.
The Court has allowed Lucky 7 to remain at its current location for another week for the underwater survey and required repairs. Golden Globe Hotels informed the HC that after primary repairs, the vessel will be taken to Jaigad for complete repairs. The Court will hear the matter on Wednesday.
Golden Globe Hotels and Lucky 7 have gone through a series of controversies. The vessel was grounded at Miramar beach during
the attempt to bring it into River Mandovi during the monsoon. It remained grounded for almost three months before it was towed away last week.
In its interim prayer Golden Globe Hotels prayed to allow an underwater survey to be conducted in River Mandovi to determine the damages and also estimates for the repairs which HC had agreed to.
