The citizens had called on the Margao Municipal engineer Gaonkar to find the reasons behind the inordinate delay in razing Gonzaco’s illegal structure despite the Chief Officer Naveen S L issuing an order on March 25.
They demanded that the municipality take immediate steps to raze the structure with the help of the municipal workers and should not wait for the district authorities to act.
Sources in the know said the municipality has now knocked on the doors of the district authorities for police protection to execute the demolition order, after facing flak from all quarters.
