Goods gutted

Goods worth over Rs 1 lakh were destroyed in a fire at a beach resort in Umtta Vaddo, Calangute on Friday night.
A fire brigade from the Mapusa Fire Station rushed to the site and extinguished the fire in an hour-long operation.
According to K D Agarwadekar, officer attached to the Mapusa Fire Station, a short circuit in a room of the resort caused the fire, which destroyed a TV set, refrigerator etc.
