Goods worth Rs 4.50 lakh destroyed in fire

Goods worth Rs 4.50 lakh were gutted in a fire that broke out in a house at Marrwado-Mapusa.
According to Mapusa Fire Station Officer Nitin Raikar, a residential house belonged to Manohar D Sawker.
Raikar said that upon receipt of a call from the inmates of the house that the fire has broken out in their storeroom, the fire personnel rushed to the site.
The fire personnel extinguished the fire with the help of two fire tenders within one-and-half hour. However, household goods like TV, washing machine, furniture, clothes, etc were destroyed in the fire.
The total loss has been estimated to be about Rs 4.50 lakh, while property worth Rs 10 lakh was saved. K D Agarwadekar, A B Misra and S S Vaiganker assisted in the operation.
