PONDA: Gorakhsha (cow protection) organisations from Punjab, Delhi, Goa and Hindu Janjagruti Goa have threatened to launch an agitation all over the country if illegal cow slaughtering houses all over India are not stopped before December 31.
This was announced during a news conference at Ramnathi by the organisations, which are attending the all India Hindu Convention.
Govansha Raksha Abhiyan Chief Hanumant Parab accused the State government of making plans to renovate the Goa Meat Complex at Usgao despite a case pending in the court over the illegal slaughter of cattle in the complex.
Animal Rescue Squad Chief Amrut Singh claimed that the government had caught 500 stray cattle through its agencies, but 300 had died due to lack of feed and water. He said about 50 illegal slaughterhouses exist in the State.
Satish Kumar of Punjab Goraksha Dal, Sudarshan of Delhi Goraksha Foundation and Ramesh Shinde, national spokesperson of Hindu Janjagruti, were present on the occasion.
