Govt announces construction of ‘Lekha Bhavan’ at Porvorim

PANJIM: The State government has announced construction of an administrative office building for Accounts Department named ‘Lekha Bhavan’, at Porvorim. 

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will lay the foundation stone for the proposed project, estimated at Rs 38.75 crore, on January 26. The project will be executed through GSIDC on a plot admeasuring 5,300 sq mtrs and the building will be a four storey with a basement. The work is expected to complete in 18 months. 

The total built-up area is 10,670.00 sq mtrs wherein 22 various administrative departments will be given space. 

“It will house a training hall for 340 pax, canteen, bank, ATM and basement for parking of 73 cars and 45 two-wheelers. The building is divided into three building sections and two service core, connected by a central corridor and lobby. The canteen, bank and ATM are provided on the ground level, while the training hall is located at upper most level. A modular approach has been adopted for planning within the departments, mainly driven by the flow of interaction required between the main officers and assisting officers,” states a press release issued by Department of Information and Publicity.
