PANJIM: With the rising number of COVID cases across the State, the Government has asked its employees to refrain from attending the office duties in case he or she or their family members have opted for swab test for coronavirus, pending test result, to avoid virus spread.
General Administration Under Secretary Shripad Arlekar in an office memorandum (OM) issued on Wednesday has said that the employees working from home shall be available on telephone and electronic means of communication at all times.
“The employees working in the State government, Semi government, departments who or any of their family members residing with them have been subjected to swab test for coronavirus shall refrain from attending office duties until the test reports are declared by the concerned medical authority,” the OM mentioned.
Such employees are directed to immediately intimate his or her superior about the situation, who will then permit the employee to work from home, pending declaration of test reports.
Several government employees attached to various departments like police, health, civil supplies, Kadamba Transport Corporation and municipal councils have been infected.
