PANJIM: Following the recent outburst by BJP MLA and IDC chairman Glen Ticlo over government’s “interference” in the functioning of the sector, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday blamed the saffron party government for pushing the industrial sector further into recession.
In a press statement, AAP leader Surel Tilve said the COVID pandemic saw most Goa’s industries shut causing unemployment amongst the youth in the State. Goa’s rating in ease of doing business has slipped down from 21st spot to 24th in the country. “Considering that the government in the State is not working for the development of the industries but for the development of the Bharatiya Janata Party through IDC, the party should rename itself Bharatiya Janata Pvt Ltd,” Tilve alleged.
The AAP leader said that the latest admission by BJP MLA himself makes it clear that the government is not even considering remedial measures for the industries and businesses but once again leaving Goans to fend for themselves.
“Ticlo’s statement that corruption is a biggest hurdle in the industrial sector, itself actually proves how the government doesn’t care about improving the industrial development,” he charged.
