Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said the concession agreement would be signed between Goa Tourism Development Corporation and the selected bidder.
“The agreement will be for a period of 30 years extendable by 30 years in accordance with the conditions specified in the concession agreement,” he said.
The cabinet also approved the lease of 14,800 sq mt of Tourism Department land, located at Britonna to GTDC for 65 years. The lease for the land will be decided by the PWD, he said.
Giving details of the project, consultants KPMG said the Britonna residency has been running into losses. “The bidder was finalised after a thorough bidding process,” said the KPMG official adding, “Selected bidder will pay an upfront fee of Rs 10.1 cr to the government besides revenue sharing of 5 percent on gross revenue per annum,” he said.
KPMG officials said this will bring in direct employment of 312. “It will be a minimum accommodation of three star with a floating jetty for 20 yachts,” said the officials.
