PANJIM: A government employee approached the Bombay High Court (HC) at Goa alleging that he has been transferred three times in the last nine months allegedly atthe behest of Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar.

The aggrieved employee has alleged that Ajgaonkar, the Pernem MLA, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister, was behind his multiple transfers as he allegedly wanted to take political revenge against the employee’s wife who had campaigned against the candidate fielded by the Minister during the last Zilla Panchayat (ZP) elections.

The division bench of the Bombay HC has issued notices to the Ajgaonkar for the next hearing that has been scheduled for October 18.

The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA) have also been named as the defendant in the petition.

The employee has claimed that these transfer orders were in violation of prevailing rules of the State government. He had earlier informed DYSA about this repeatedly.

Upon receiving information under RTI about the comments and other details about his transfer orders, he approached the court.

The employee’s wife has been associated with the local panchayat. However, after Ajgaonkar switched his political party affiliation, issues allegedly began to rise between them.
