PANJIM: Welcoming the Voluntary Retirement Scheme announced by Chief Minister Minister Manohar Parrikar, the Goa Government Employees Association has, however, opined that the scheme could be misused.
“The VRS scheme to do away lethargy though it sounds good, has a risk of it being misused to harass sincere government employees, who do not fall in line to do illegalities,” GGEA president John Nazareth said in a statement.
He said GGEA will seek an appointment with the Chief Minister to discuss the issue so that there is no misuse of the provisions.
GGEA thanked the government for accepting their demand to included government servants under the Deen Dayal Swasth Seva Health Scheme.
Commenting on surprise visit by WRD Minister Vindo Palyekar, GGEA said it is not averse to surprise inspections.
