‘Govt has given free hand to home-stays’

MARGAO: The Small and Medium Hotel Owners Association (SMHA) has come down heavily on the manner in which the Government of Goa, through the Tourism Department, has given a free hand to the home-stays in Goa.  The SMHA said that the illegal establishments in the name of home-stays are becoming hubs of illegal activities.

“By Monday we will come down to three per cent occupancy. Only 30 per cent of tourists who will enter and have entered Goa when the gates opened are going to contribute to the revenue and tourism industry of the State,” said President Serafin Cota.
