Govt introduces ‘free’ online mock tests and classes for SSC students

PANJIM: As the scheduled Board examination for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) stands postponed in wake of the ongoing nation-wide lockdown, the State government has introduced online tests and subject-wise classes in mathematics and science for the students of class X from April 4.

Around 17,000-odd students were slated to answer the SSC board examination, which were originally scheduled to have begun from Thursday, April 2. The examinations have been postponed, till further notice, owing to Coronavirus pandemic across country.

The Directorate of Education (DoE) and State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) have tied up with Jio-Embibe Pvt Ltd in conducting computer based online mock test for the students of Std X in the subject mathematics and science, appearing in board examination in April 2020, for all the government and govt-aided secondary schools.

“It is of paramount importance to all of us that all the student’s health are protected while also ensuring that their learning does not get interrupted,” said Director Education Vandana Rao said in a circular issued to all the heads of the institutions.

“Towards, this goal the improvement and learning platform, will be provided free of cost for the students for Learn, Practice and Test, from the comfort and safety of their homes,” she said.

Jio-Embibe team has drafted an effective continuance of learning plan for the students of class X.

Students can appear for the online test on https://www.embible.com/mock-test/cbse/10th-cbse-mocktest.

Similarly, starting from April 4, every day there will be subject wise online classes on www.liveshaala.com. Students are advised to download the Zoom app for the same.

The science class will be held from 11 am to 12.30 pm, while Mathematics is scheduled from 2 pm to 3.30pm.

The remedial classes will be on the topics like electricity, ray optics, light, periodic classification of elements, acids, bases and salt, sources of energy in Science; while for Maths, it would include circle, statistics pair of liner equations, polynomials and constructions.

Schools have been directed to instruct the students to take the live test and attend the classes during the current lockdown period.

Similarly, starting from April 4, every day there will be subject-wise online classes.
