vasco: Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho has stated that the State government is trying hard to bring Goa’s economy back on track by keeping some sectors such as trading, pharma, essential services, and small-scale mining related activities on smaller scale functional.
Trading has started again, construction of various projects has resumed, he continued, while elaborating about the need for the govt to get back its sources of revenue and why it was important for various businesses to function.
“Some business associations asking for packages, concessions, etc but it is not possible as the State government doesn’t have the money to do so. This is not the time to ask for subsidies from the government” Godinho added.
He also mentioned that this is not the time to ask and to give subsidies from the government’s side given the economic condition the State is in.
“Recently, some private bus operators approached me. They are already getting the diesel subsidy, which I have asked to be released,” Godinho added.
