MARGAO: MLA Alexio Reginaldo Lourenco slammed the Manohar Parrikar-led government for what he described as “all-pervasive lackadaisical stand on almost all grave challenges confronting Goa and Goemkars.”
Regarding the crucial Mhadei river issue, he stated that the adamant Parrikar government continues to lead the people of the State into the deep abyss of no return.
“Manohar Parrikar’s government does not listen to the pleading judicious voice of Goemkars to safeguard Goa’s vital interests on Mhadei,” he stated in a press note issued on Monday.
Lourenco informed that in the last one month he has written four letters to WRD Minister Vinod Palyakar regarding the Mhadei issue. Lourenco was disturbed by Palyekar statements that, “There is no question of going to the Supreme Court. We have got adequate water and what if after going to the Supreme Court less water is given to us?”
The Curtorim MLA had requested the WRD minister to approach the Supreme Court but he refused.
in the Supreme Court against the verdict of the Mhadei Tribunal, a decision which is contrary to the government’s previous commitment of not allowing even a drop of water to flow outside Mhadai basin.
