PANJIM: The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has said that the government polytechnics in the state are preparing to file documentation and will later apply for a National Board of Accreditation (NBA) which is a third party certification.
Speaking to Herald, DTE Chairman, Vivek Kamat said “We are going for National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for polytechnics across Goa. Now all the polytechnics coming together are gearing up for preparing documentation and we have already had several meetings on how to go about the documentation process as most of the process is confusing and that is the reason we will jointly do the documentation and then each polytechnic shall separately apply for the accreditation. They have to keep the documentation for a period of two years and then apply for the accreditation”
“NBA is a third party certification and it has various criteria on which it judges the polytechnic and then the accreditation is given. This applies to B E colleges also. GEC also had this accreditation and now they too are applying for NAAC. We are trying to improve the quality of technical education,” Kamat added.
