PANJIM: The National Students Union of India (NSUI), Goa said the government postponed final year exams fearing mass boycott by students.
NSUI State president Naushad Chowdhari came down heavily on the Chief Minister and the Goa University vice chancellor for neglecting the voice of students and said that fearing the mass boycott during the examination and knowing the law students had approached the High Court; the government was forced to postpone third year exams to February 7.
Chowdhari said due to the adamant approach of the vice chancellor and insensitivity of the Chief Minister the students were suffering and undergoing mental agony.
He said despite meeting Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai on Monday and he directing the vice chancellor to hold exams online, the latter didn’t pay heed.
The decision to postpone exams was taken on the penultimate day, he added.
