PANJIM: The State Cabinet on Wednesday extended the One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme of the Electricity Department for power defaulters by six more months.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the Cabinet approved a proposal to reintroduce the OTS scheme for power defaulters. He said that about Rs 402 crore arrears are still pending and to be recovered from 1700-odd power defaulters.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet granted six months further extension to off-shore casinos in River Mandovi.
The Cabinet also approved a proposal to transfer land belonging to the Water Resources Department (WRD) to the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services to set up a veterinary dispensary and Kunbi village at Sanguem.
The Cabinet approved a proposal for appointments on compassionate grounds to three persons.
