Govt restarts entry of visitors to Selaulim dam

Visitors to the Selaulim dam and botanical garden however need to carry a photo identity card for entry to the Dam.

SANGUEM: The entry for visitors to Selaulim dam which was banned since the outbreak of COVID-19 restarted on Monday. 

It is pertinent to note here that ever since the opening of the Selaulim Dam, thousands of visitors have been flocking to the dam during monsoon to witness the water flowing down the spillway.

However, since the outbreak of the pandemic, the entry the visitors was stopped as a precautionary measure so as to avoid the spread of COVID-19. 

The authorities had however permitted the visitors to visit the botanical garden located on the other side of the dam last year. 

With the opening of the gates to the Selaulim Dam, the visitors are highly elated and will soon flock to witness the enchanting water flow at the Selaulim Dam.

During the pandemic COVID-19, the Goa Forest Development Corporation, which manages the botanical garden has done a lot of improvements including many developments of many activities for children. 

Visitors to the Selaulim dam and botanical garden however need to carry a photo identity card for entry to the Dam.
