Govt restricts indoor and outdoor public gatherings; no night curfew imposed

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant says govt has taken
anadministrative decision to restrict indoor public gatherings to 50% capacity
of the hall, and limited outdoor public meetings to 100 persons. No night
curfew has been imposed. Though the cases are rising, hospitalization has been
less, Sawant said.

A review of all these restrictions will be taken
after 26th January 2022. This in addition to Epidemic Act 1897
and Tourism Dept restrictions which have been imposed earlier. The Govt is
fully equipped with medical facilities, Sawant said. He also added that the
Govt will requisition private hospitals if required to deal with the third
Covid wave, on a day’s notice.

Instead of imposing night curfew, the idea is to
restrict large gatherings during day or night he said. The 100 person
restrictions will apply to beaches and market places, Sawant declared. Police
and panchayats have been instructed to monitor gatherings at the local level.

For international passengers, there will be RT-PCR
test followed by 7 days isolation. After that another test will have to be done
to ensure that a person is Covid negative. All tourism stakeholders have been
asked to ensure that the tourists observe these restrictions.
