The Education Department has made the final payment to Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd towards 46 new buses to be provided to Government secondary and higher secondary schools thus ensuring that all government schools are now provided with a bus for its students.
The government has provided buses to 83 schools at the cost of Rs 14 crore.
Earlier, 37 schools were covered, the amount for the remaining buses has been paid now and KTCL has been asked to provide the buses to the schools on or before February 1. 2014.
According to a press release issued here, in the second phase four higher secondary schools – Govt HSS, Sanquelim, Govt HSS, Valpoi, Govt HSS, Masthimol and Govt Multipurpose HSS, Borda, Margao will be provided buses.
The Government HS to be provided buses are as follows:
Pernem taluka – Govt HS, Agarwada; Hutatma Bapu Gawas Memorial Govt HS, Chadel; Govt HS, Ozari, Gothanwada; and Govt HS, Dadachiwadi, Dhargal.
Bardez Taluka – Govt HS, Alto Betim, Porvorim and Govt HS, Revora.
Bicholim Taluka – Govt HS, Shirigao, Assonora; Govt HS, Sal, Assonora; Govt HS, Amona; Govt HS, Mulgao; Govt HS, Navelim, Govt HS, Kasarpal and Govt HS, Tarmatha.
Sattari Taluka – Govt HS, Valpoi; Late Hirojirao B Dessai Govt HS, Thane; Govt HS, Shelop, Khurd; Govt HS, Guleli; Govt HS, Ambedem, Nagargao; Govt HS, Advoi; Govt HS, Pissurlem; Govt HS, Bhuipal; Govt HS, Morlem Colony; Govt HS, Sanvordem and Bhagwan Mahavir Govt HS, Honda.
Tiswadi Taluka – Govt HS, Dona Paula and Govt HS, Pale, Siridao.
Ponda Taluka – Govt HS, Juna Bazar, Ponda and Govt HS, Ganje, Usgao.
Sanguem Taluka – Govt HS, Vaddem, Curdi; Govt HS, Shigao, Collem and Govt HS, Zambaulim, Rivona.
