PANJIM: The State government has constituted a committee named as the ‘Exposition Secretariat’ to monitor the day-to-day functioning and to oversee all activities related to the forthcoming Exposition of sacred relics of St Francis Xavier at Old Goa to be held from November 21, 2024 to January 5, 2025.
Exposition Secretariat headed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant comprises Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho and Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira as Deputy Chairmen, Secretary (Revenue) Sandeep Jacques as Commissioner-I (Infrastructure, Services and Coordination) Exposition, PWD Principal Chief Engineer Uttam Parsekar as Commissioner-II (Infrastructure and Services) Exposition, Chief Electrical Engineer Stephen Fernandes as Additional Commissioner-I (Services) Exposition, Superintendent of Police (Anti-Terrorist Squad) Edwin Colaco as Additional Commissioner-II (Security) Exposition, SP (Security) Kiran Poduval as Additional Commissioner-III (Security) Exposition, PWD Chief Architect Marvin Gomes as Additional Commissioner-IV (Services) Exposition, GSIDC engineer Sandip K Prabhu Chodnekar as Additional Commissioner-V (Infrastructure) Exposition, DySP (GRP) Roy Pereira as Deputy Commissioner Exposition-I (Security) and DySP (Traffic-North) Siddhant Shirodkar as Deputy Commissioner Exposition-II (Security).
The Exposition Secretariat will liaise with all the government departments, namely police, transport, panchayats, tourism, PWD, etc and ensure control and smooth conduct, co-ordination and supervision of all the requirement and arrangements for the exposition 2024.
The Exposition Secretariat may requisition and avail the services of any authority/agency/government department and their officials, for the purpose.
Similarly, the State government has constituted a High Powered Co-ordination Committee for Exposition, 2024 under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. The other 40- members of HPCC are Union Minister of State for Tourism Shripad Naik as Co-Chairman-(1), Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho as Co-Chairman-(2), Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira, Power Minister Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar, Revenue Minister Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monserrate, Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude, Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao, Deputy Speaker Joshua D’Souza and other Members of Legislative Assembly and senior government officers as Member of the Committee.
The HPCC will have full powers to decide in the matter and execute any kind of work related to the exposition so as to enable the smooth conduct of Exposition 2024, subject to the approval of the Cabinet, all financial and administrative powers relating to execute of any kind of work/ infrastructure facilities and to provide any other facilities as required for the Exposition-2024, will be vested with the Chairman of the Exposition Secretariat and any decision in this respect will be final.
