PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has reiterated that the BJP-led government is stable while retaliating at negative comments on the functioning of the government.
“My government is stable. We have all MLAs including BJP and independents intact,” he said speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited’s (KTCL) 39th anniversary function in the capital on Tuesday.
His statement comes in the backdrop of former deputy chief minister Vijai Sardesai’s remark on supporting the government.
Addressing a gathering on the eve of Dussehra at Fatorda, Sardesai had said he is looking for answers whether it was a mistake to support the government under then chief minister Manohar Parrikar as well under Dr Sawant after Parrikar’s demise.
Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho, who was also present at the KTCL function, also hit out at Sardesai, albeit without taking his name.
“The government is very strong and very stable. The performance of the government and leadership of Chief Minister Dr Sawant is disturbing some people. Since the government is functioning very well, it is giving sleepless nights to some people and as such certain comments are bound to come,” he said.
