Govt to allot 60 plots at Tuem EMC

PANJIM: The long-delayed proposal to set up greenfield electronics manufacturing cluster (EMC) at Tuem in Pernem Taluka is finally set to roll, with Department of Information Technology (DIT) inviting applications for allocation of 60 industrial plots in the cluster. 

The DIT in a notice issued on Friday has invited application for allotment of 15 industrial plots, ranging from two-eight acres each and 45 micro industrial zone plots, each of 500 to 600 sq mtrs, from the interested units. 

The last date for submitting the application is April 15. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in his Budget 2021-22, had said that the land allotment policy for the EMC project has been notified last year and the land allotment process has commenced with various interested units approaching showing interest in investments. 

The Goa government is developing the EMC at Tuem to address future demands for IT infrastructure.

The InfoTech Corporation of Goa has been identified as the implementing agency for the project.
