Govt to construct State Haj House

PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced to construct State Haj House. 

The foundation stone for the house would be laid this year. The Chief Minister on Friday chaired the first executive meeting along with Goa Haj Committee Chairman Urfan Mulla and assured them to allot a new Haj office in South Collectorate building, Margao.

In a press release, Mulla stated that the Chief Minister has announced to construct State Haj House and foundation stone for the same would be laid before 2024. 

He also said that government may also request to Centre for a direct flight from Goa to Saudi Arabia if quota of 200 hajjis is completed. 

“The Chief Minister has stated that the annual budget of Goa Haj Committee will be increased to Rs one crore,” Mulla mentioned. 

He stated that the Chief Minister has assured to grant Cabinet rank to the chairman of the committee as granted in many other States. 

Haj office will provide all the government schemes and policies to the people at their doorstep.
