MARGAO: Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister Vijai Sardesai directed the health officials to issue notices to disconnect water and electricity connections of those people, who have not taken sewage connection.
“What is the point when government spends crores of rupees on sewerage network and people do not take connections even the same are offered at a subsidised rate,” Vijai said and informed that the rate for sewage connection for a flat is Rs 3,000 and for bungalow it is Rs 5,000.
“The only reason why somebody does not take sewage connection when it is available at a subsidised rate is because that person’s intention is to create nuisance,” he said and asked the health officials to immediately move for cancellation of their electricity and water connections.
