PANJIM: In a New Year gift to over a thousand Anganwadi workers, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Saturday announced to hike their honorarium along with increasing the retirement age from current 60 years to 62 years.
Addressing the gathering on the launch of flagship schemes — Yashaswini and Swawlambhan, Dr Sawant announced that following a proposal from the Minister of Women and Child Development Vishwajit Rane, government has decided to hike the honorarium awarded to Anganwadi workers.
Also, the retirement age will be increased from current 60 years to 62 years, chief minister added.
