PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced on Thursday that the Deen Dayanand Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY) health insurance scheme limit would be increased, and the scheme would be revamped to include more medical procedures and hospitals.
Speaking to reporters after the Cabinet meeting, Sawant stated that the scheme would be revised and ready within the next two months.
Additionally, a 14-digit Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) number will be created and linked to the DDSSY cards of all beneficiaries, Sawant informed. The ABHA number, an initiative of the Union Health Ministry, uniquely identifies a citizen as a participant in India’s digital healthcare ecosystem, which stores their health records.
Using the ABHA number or ABHA card, health records of a citizen can be retrieved from anywhere across the country. The Goa government has been generating ABHA IDs for citizens in Community Health Centres (CHCs) and Primary Health Centres (PHCs). Citizens can also generate their ABHA numbers by registering on the portal https://abha.abdm.gov.in/abha/v3/register
According to the Union Health Ministry records, 5.4 lakh ABHA IDs of Goan citizens have been created. The state has 312 verified health facilities and 1,091 healthcare professionals, as per the data.
