PORVORIM: CM Pramod Sawant assured that an inquiry will be conducted into the land deals of all the comunidades in the State.
The assurance came after Congress MLA Reginaldo Lourenco and Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte questioned the govt’s failure to take action against the Administrator of Comunidade-North Zone into the multi-crore scam linked to Serula Comunidade, wherein illegal conversion and mutation of comunidade land admeasuring 39,000 sq mtrs was done and sold out.
The MLAs said that Serula Comunidade is just one case, which has been exposed and that the action in the matter should set an example to all those comunidades, who are involved into such illegal land deals.
Responding to it, Sawant said he will seek the records of the land deals done by each and every comunidade in the State and will conduct an inquiry.
Sawant said that he will go into every detail of the land deals like conversion, mutation, forgery, etc.
Khaunte questioned the govt’s failure to act against the Administrator of comunidade in the Serula Comunidade land scam matter, despite the Revenue dept, in its report exposing the administrator and mamlatdar nexus in the illegal allotment of plot. “During my tenure as Revenue Minister, I had immediately suspended the mamlatdar of Bardez for his involvement. But, till date no action has been taken against Administrator of Comunidade,” he said.
The govt in its written reply, said the Administrator of the comunidade had acted very carelessly and casually in a hasty manner, without proper application of mind, proper enquiry, thorough verification of records, in the absence of records in the comunidade office and without the prior approval of the govt, to the Joint Mamlatdar Bardez in respect of certification of mutations.
