Govt to regularise structures built before Feb 28, 2014

Dy CM says there are four components in regularisation process

PANJIM: Regularisation of unauthorised houses will be addressed with a new legislation or policy as per the Budget announcement and the cut off time as announced by the former chief minister will be February 28, 2014, Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue Minister Francis D’Souza told the Legislative Assembly.
Structures constructed before February 28, 2014 will be regularised as decided earlier and the process to regularise these structures is in process, he said.
There are four components in the process of regularisation as the structures falls under four different properties that is structures in comunidade land, private land, government land and tenanted land.
For all four components, there is need of separate laws for each. “We cannot have common law for all the components,” the minister said.
“To look into the regularisation of structures on comunidade land we have formed committee likewise on other land also we will see to sort out the issues,” minister said.
