Govt to seek speedy disposal of pending court cases

The State government has decided to write to the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court for his intervention for speedy disposal of the cases.

PORVORIM: With over 57,200 civil and criminal cases pending across various courts, the State government has decided to write to the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court for his intervention for speedy disposal of the cases. 

Law Minister Nilesh Cabral on Friday said that the government will write to the Chief Justice of Bombay High Court bringing to his notice the apprehension raised by the members on the Floor of the House and seeking necessary directions to the courts to dispose-off pending cases on fast-track. 

Goa Forward Party (GFP) MLA Vijai Sardesai brought to the notice of the House that as per government reply there are 57,283 cases pending across various  courts
