PANJIM: Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister Vishwajit Rane met former Chief Town Planner of India and Urban and Regional Planner Edgar Rebeiro along with Chief Town Planner Rajesh Naik and Architect Manguesh Prabhugaonkar and discussed guidelines for preparing a comprehensive vision for planned development in Goa.
He said that they discussed framework for chronological review of urban rural continuum across municipal and village panchayat areas of Goa by considering various emerging challenges of incorporating inclusivity of people friendly issues in town planning.
“We discussed evolution of town planning act since last few decades and way forward directions to planning areas in relation to Regional Plan and integration of construction operation layers in planning and also reviewed current regulations and planning guidelines,” he said.
They also reviewed conservation zones like Old Goa, etc and overlapping the same on broader master plan for the State in relation to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), National Monument Authority, State Archives, etc for preservation and conservation of policies and regulations. Mapping of all infrastructure lines like national highways, State roads, railways, aviation zones, integration of CRZ and other resources within larger master plans for transparency among stakeholders were discussed, the Minister said adding that the TCP will ensure a futuristic growth centric master plan for the State.
