Govt will fulfill all promises in next three months: CM

‘Sarkar Tumchya Dari’ inaugurated at Cuncolim

CUNCOLIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Sunday said the government would fulfill all its promises made to the people of Goa within the next three months.

He was addressing during the inauguration of the outreach programme “Sarkar Tumchya Dari” (government at your doorstep) in Cuncolim in the presence of Water Resources Minister Filipe Nery Rodrigues, MLA Clafasio Dias and District Collector Ruchika Katiyal.

Speaking further, he said, “In the next 30 days, all pothole-ridden roads will be repaired and if this does not happen, then the PWD officials will be punished.”

“The BJP does not have a large number of voters in Salcete, however xashtikars will not lag in terms of development,” he said.

He said “Opposition parties feel happy to criticise the government but our government is responding to the criticism with actions. Some are calling government at door step outreach programme an election jumla but our efforts are sincere and clean. Not a single citizen will return empty handed. Sixty per cent jobs will be done on the spot while the remaining will be filled soon.

“We don’t need lessons on how to run a government by the leaders of a political party which has no agenda, no vision and no leadership. Our government is capable of running the State,” he said.

The Chief Minister said, “The Opposition should not politicise development works. Now, that elections are fast approaching, the opposition should spend some energy in praising the government for carrying out the developmental works.”

“Former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat is busy taking selfies on the streets. However, during Kamat’s tenure as CM he failed to utilise the funds as the then Congress leaders were busy “filling” their coffers instead of developing the State,” he charged.

The Chief Minister briefed on the various government schemes during the 60th year of liberation.

He said, “If a person lives without basic necessities such as electricity, water, toilet and house, I will ensure that no one remains without basic amenities.”

Water Resources Minister Filipe Nery Rodrigues said, “The government is working for the benefit of the people and we are proud to have supported the government. The work done by the BJP government during the COVID epidemic is huge”.

Clafasio Dias said Sawant government has fulfilled maximum development works in Cuncolim constituency.

Cuncolim Educational Society chairman Videsh Desai welcomed. Vijay Kumar Kopre moderated the programme and Shailesh Jotkar proposed the vote of thanks.

The Chief Minister later interacted with a Sayampurna Mitra and government officials. He lent a patient ear to the people’s grievances and directed the officials to come out with a solution to their grievances.

Chief Minister said a former minister, who was holding PWD portfolio, is now criticising government’s scheme of providing free water of up to 16,000 litres claiming it to be his idea.

Sawant said “Thank God. He is not minister. Forget free water, people would have received even proper water.”

Sawant said, “Some ministers were selfish and they were against his government mission ‘Nation First and State First’ so they were removed from cabinet.”

MLA Clafacio Dias passed the first litmus test as he succeeded in getting a pretty good number of voters through the government at your door step programme.
