BICHOLIM: Speaker Anant Shet has assured that government will come up with an amicable settlement in the interest of Sesa Goa mining workers and the company.
He was addressing a press conference at Deendayal Bhavan Hall, Bicholim to clarify government’s stand on the issue.
Shet further informed that Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has assured to solve the issues of workers by meeting their demands like cancellation of night shift or prompting the Company to take precautionary measures during night shift and to stop the suspension of the workers. However, Shet told that the CM has not assured to look into the issue of workers regarding the appointment of Ajitsingh Rane as their union leader, stating that the company has the full right to take its own decision.
He also called upon the workers not to fall in prey to the anti-government propaganda made by some elements and reiterated the stand of the government that it is always with the workers.
BMC chairperson Satish Gaonkar stated that BJP in Bicholim is making efforts to restore the mining activities and added that workers and the company should not suffer.
Bicholim BJP mandal president Vallabh Salkar said they are always behind the workers and will support them.
Former MLA Rajesh Patnekar, Mayem sarpanch Urvi Masurkar, BJP leader Vishwas Gaonkar, Chodankar, BMC councillors Rama Mayekar, Kundan Falari and Dada Pal, Mayem VP members Mahesh Ghadi, Vijaykumar Pole, Narendra Tari and others were present.
