PANJIM/MARGAO: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee has condoled the death of senior Congress leader and former chief minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit
GPCC president Girish Chodankar, in a statement, said, “The news of Sheila Dikshitji’s demise is shocking and heartbreaking for Goa Pradesh Congress Committee. Undoubtedly, the transformation of Delhi into a metro city in the real sense was achieved under her tenure as CM of Delhi. People of Delhi will always remember her valuable contribution in changing the face of Delhi.”
Stating that the death of the veteran leader is a personal loss, Girish said, “During my tenure as NSUI In-charge, her support and guidance, especially during the DUSU election, is unforgettable. She has positively touched life of millions of people. Her party loyalty and commitments will be guiding force for younger generation of the party. GPCC condoles her death.”
Meanwhile, expressing grief over the demise of Sheila Dixit, Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat remembered the Congress leader as the longest serving chief minister of Delhi who transformed the national capital.
“She dedicated her life to serve the nation and to strengthen the Congress Party,” he said while adding that her death is a great loss to the Congress family.
