GPCC VP suffers mild stroke

PANJIM: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Vice President M K Shaikh suffered a mild stroke when angry party workers from Calangute Constituency were staging protests over rumours that BJP Minister Michael Lobo may join the party.
As the peeved party workers continued their protest demanding that the party should be given to one of its loyal Congressman and Rao trying to pacify them, Shaikh who was also present during the meeting suddenly collapsed. He was immediately rushed to the nearby private hospital where he underwent angiography.
The AICC observer warned party workers Roy Fernandes after the latter alleged that party president Girish Chodankar had accepted money from Lobo during the last Lok Sabha elections.
